BioSmart executes works for Águas do Norte | NOV Group

BioSmart secured the adjudication of the public procedures of the company Águas do Norte for two projects.

BioSmart secured the adjudication of the public procedures of the company Águas do Norte for projects of “Replacement of the bridges of the primary decanters of the WWTP of Viana do Castelo - Cidade” and of “Acquisition of Locksmithing Services for the Pumping Stations of the Sanitation Subsystems of Ave and Vila do Conde Sul”.

The first project referred to will last for 2 months, with a value of around 35 thousand euros. The works to be carried out include the dismantling of the bridges of the primary decanters, deflectors and dischargers, followed by the installation of a bridge with a bottom scraper, new deflectors and dischargers.

After the entry work, there is the Parshall channel where the effluent flow for primary treatment is measured. The effluent is sent to the primary decanters (circular in shape and arranged in parallel) which are equipped with peripherally driven radial scraper bridges where all the decantable materials are separated, that is, the material is separated according to its densities.

The wastewater treatment plant has a maximum treatment capacity of 8,580 m3/d and serves a population of 45,257 inhabitants, located in the parish of Areosa, municipality of Viana do Castelo.

Wastewater of urban origin from the municipality of Viana do Castelo is treated using activated sludge in conventional aeration, later reaching a final stage of disinfection by ultraviolet radiation before being discharged into the Atlantic Ocean.

The contract for the “Acquisition of Locksmithing Services for the Pumping Stations of the Ave and Vila do Conde Sul Sanitation Subsystems”, with a duration of 1 year, has a value of 84 thousand euros.

The main objective of this contract is the acquisition of specialized locksmith labor services, as well as the supply of materials and accessories necessary for the execution of the foreseen works.
