Grupo NOV in the partial reinforcement of the street adjacent to Casa dos Pintores in Leiria | NOV Group

The work of «Partial Reinforcement of Rua Acácio Paiva, adjacent to Casa dos Pintores» in Leiria was awarded by the Municipality of Leiria to Grupo NOV Engenharia & Construções.

With an execution period of 180 days, and a total investment of around 350 thousand euros, the contract was concluded at the end of last april.

The Casa dos Pintores building is located in an urban area, in the historic center of the city of Leiria, and its construction dates back to the 16th century. The works in this contract essentially consisted of reinforcing the foundations of the buildings of the “Casa dos Pintores”, of the establishment “Estofos Ferreira” and of the pavement of Rua Acácio Paiva, in order to limit horizontal movements in these infrastructures and to control the settlements of Rua Acácio Paiva.

Given the existing constraints, the repression of the facades was materialized by the execution of micropiles made of steel tubes. The micropiles were sealed and injected through the IRS system, using a double obturator and non-return valves, in the length corresponding to the sealing bulb, located below the geological singularities.
