Requalification of the A25 in progress with Viamarca

News date: 9 September 2022

The Beiras Litoral and Alta Motorway, commonly referred to as the A25, which connects Aveiro to Guarda, is the subject of various road rehabilitation and improvement interventions.

These interventions were awarded to Viamarca, a company of Grupo NOV Indústria dedicated to the production of vertical and horizontal signage and the execution of road markings.

The works, worth around 400,000 euros, involve several sections of that road, including the section from Mangualde to Chãs de Tavares, from Aveiro to Guarda and from Pinhel to Pínzio, in both directions.

The conservation projects for the three sections of the A25 include horizontal signage work, namely mechanical painting for the execution of longitudinal marks through the application of hot thermoplastic paint and spray paint on the axle lines and guides, in a total of lines of 143 km, and also the application of toothed guide in the white color of “Efeito Sonoro” in about 185 Km.

With regard to manual painting, the project foresees the execution of various road markings, such as lanes, arrows, triangles and the application of Cat´s Eye markers to reinforce the visibility of the markings on the A25 motorway.

Viamarca, in the execution of this contract, is testing its new Spray/RIB truck. This equipment brings numerous advantages, improving the quality and speed of the work performed. Among the main advantages is the possibility of transporting paint pallets on the back, having support boilers, where you can paint in progress, and two arms for RIB execution.

As the A25 is one of the busiest motorways in the country, as it is a privileged connection point between the Portuguese coast and neighboring Spain, these works to improve the road translate into an improvement in conditions of convenience and road safety, especially for traffic long haul, in particular for heavy vehicles.

Viamarca is one of the companies in the industrial sector of Grupo NOV, which also includes Ecopaint (paints), Lena Agregados (aggregates and bituminous), Lenobetão (ready-mixed concrete), and Equimetra (transport and metalworking maintenance).
