XXII Grupo NOV Convention recalls Sustainability theme | NOV Group

At the end of the first half of the year, Grupo NOV organized its XXII Convention. This convention, still taking place in a pandemic context, was held in a hybrid format, with a face-to-face component at Eurosol Leiria (speakers) and online via Zoom (participants).

The theme chosen for this year's Convention was the NOVXXI Challenge: Sustainability. The objectives defined for this step were the following: concern for profitability associated with social and environmental concerns; sustainability as a permanent objective; the rejuvenation of the teams and a successful management succession; the commitment to digitization, cooperation and relationships.

The meeting, in which around 210 employees from the national and international area participated remotely via Zoom, was divided into two afternoons of work. In the first session, the level of compliance with the 2020 objectives by the Executive Committee of Grupo NOV was evaluated, and the interventions of the national Executive Committees were presented. In the second session, the interventions of the International Executive Committees and the objectives for the new NOXXI stage were presented by the CEO of Grupo NOV.

The event, in addition to being differentiating from previous conventions because it was held remotely live, also had some challenges for participants.

In April, all business units were invited to produce a film that demonstrated current and future challenges based on sustainability. These films were sent to the group's collaborators who, in the end, voted for their favorite, before the date of the convention. The Grupo NOV team in Algeria was the winner of the best film, followed by Venezuela (2nd place) and Cars (3rd place).

During the two working afternoons of the event, in order to maintain some dynamics in this remote meeting, several multiple-choice questions were also asked about each intervention, which had to be answered by the participating employees at the time, with immediate presentation of the results.
